humanitarian tech-focused
program with a session titled
Introduction to Humanitarian
Technology & EPICS in IEEE,
delivered by Eng. Kai Goodall.
Organized collaboratively by
IEEE ENSIT SIGHT (Tunisia
Section) and IEEE E-JUST SB
(Egypt Section), the webinar
introduced participants to EPICS,
HTAC, and the role of
engineering in community-driven
impact. With 26 total attendees,
25 IEEE members and 1 guest,
the session provided clear
guidance on project
development, funding pathways,
and how students can lead
meaningful humanitarian
technology initiatives within
IEEE.
Session 2:
Impact Without Borders: SIGHT

Session 2, held online on 15
September 2025, focused on
IEEE SIGHT Projects & IEEE Smart Village and showcased
how technology empowers
underserved communities.
Organized jointly by IEEE
E-JUST SB (Egypt) and IEEE
ENSIT SIGHT Group (Tunisia),
the session highlighted
sustainable engineering
solutions, Smart Village
initiatives, and the importance of
youth involvement in
humanitarian technologies. With
25 attendees and 2 guest
speakers, the event encouraged
cross-border collaboration and
inspired participants to engage in
IEEE SIGHT, Smart Village, and
entrepreneurship opportunities
for sustainable community
development.
Session 3:
Impact Without Borders: SIGHT
Insights Webinar Series -
Session 3, held online on 16
September 2025, focused on
HTAC Programs and
Opportunities and brought
together participants from Egypt,
Tunisia, and beyond to explore
global humanitarian technology
initiatives. Co-organized by IEEE
E-JUST SB (Egypt) and IEEE
ENSIT SIGHT Group (Tunisia),
the session featured speakers
Eng. Abdullateef Aliyu and Eng.
Nour Sbaoulji, with moderation
by Aya Elmogy. Through
discussions on HTAC funding,
volunteer pathways, training
programs, and success stories
such as IEEE Smart Village
projects in Africa, attendees
gained practical insights into
launching and scaling
humanitarian technology
projects. With 20 attendees and
2 guest speakers, the session
strengthened cross-border
collaboration and highlighted
clear opportunities for students
and young professionals to
engage in impactful IEEE
humanitarian initiatives.
