Humanovators is an initiative organized by IEEE SIGHT Group ENSIT
in collaboration with IEEE ENSIT Student Branch . In its first edition,
taking place on the 5th of April at ENSIT (Higher National Engineering
School of Tunis), it centered around the theme of Water, emphasizing
its vital role in both sustainable development and humanitarian
innovation.
This event brought together students from various backgrounds to
explore water-related challenges and co-create impactful, technology
driven solutions that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs 6 and
14: Clean Water and Sanitation and Life Below Water.
Humanovators brought together a rich tapestry of innovation, impact,
and collaboration with NGOs and external bodies. The event featured
hands-on workshops like marine waste detection with deep learning,
satellite remote sensing for water management, disaster management
with the Tunisian Red Crescent, and an Innovation Camp led by Injaz
Tunisia. Participants also engaged in a lively panel discussion on
tech-driven water solutions, a round table exploring entrepreneurial
opportunities in water management, and a powerful HTB session with
IEEE?s Adil Usman on humanitarian technologies. The event
culminated in the Ideathon Pitching, where bold ideas met expert
feedback; all aimed at reshaping the future of water through
technology, community, and purpose.
Humanovators effectively connected innovation, sustainability, and
social impact by providing a platform for students to address urgent
water challenges through practical solutions. The event promoted
collaboration, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship, empowering
participants to leverage technology and humanitarian values for
global good.
