At the Blockchain Technology workshop held on July 9, 2025, the IEEE IAS PES ENSIT Student Branch Joint Chapter delved into the transformative potential of blockchain in smart industries and sustainable energy systems. Led by Ayhem Arbi, a recognized Blockchain Expert and Arabic Community Manager at WEEX Crypto Exchange, the session provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of blockchain architecture, cryptographic tools, and smart contracts. Key topics included peer-to-peer distributed ledgers, consensus mechanisms like Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, and the role of blockchain in decentralized energy trading and smart grid integration. Participants engaged in hands-on discussions about the application of blockchain in enabling peer-to-peer energy markets and enhancing grid decentralization, trust, and transaction traceability. The workshop not only illuminated the intersection of blockchain technology with clean energy but also inspired innovative thinking among students and professionals, reinforcing the IEEE's commitment to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity.
